An integrative approach to mental health.

Specializing in women.

Have you found yourself struggling to enjoy the life you’ve worked hard to create because of new or recurrent mental health challenges?

I help high-functioning women recapture well-being using a comprehensive approach that combines lifestyle, medical, and psychological support.

After training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in general and Reproductive Psychiatry, I have spent years working with and advocating for women in my post residency career as the “Women’s Mental Health Champion” for two federal medical centers.

In addition to treating depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD, my work considers the unique hormonal changes women experience throughout adulthood to create a personalized, integrative plan to achieve optimal mental health.

Beyond “medication management

Are you looking to work with an expert in interventions that extend beyond medications to help your mental health?

My approach considers and incorporates:

💊 Conventional Psychiatric Treatments: medication and psychotherapy

🍎 Lifestyle Factors: recommendations for nutrition, movement, sleep, and light exposure

🧬 Medical Context: identifying nutrient deficiencies, genetic differences, and hormonal or medical issues that may contribute to psychiatric symptoms

🌿 Supplements and Natural Therapies: evidence-based supplements

🧘 Mind-Body Practices: mindfulness and meditation

🧠 Psychotherapy: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic psychotherapy, or trauma-informed therapy, tailored to individual needs

Could it be my hormones?

🌸 In a short answer, yes! Times of hormonal change increase the risk of mental health challenges.

💉 With specific training in prescribing hormones in PMDD, perimenopause and menopause, if your symptoms are caused or exacerbated by hormonal changes, we can consider whether hormone therapy could help you.

🍃 However, there are many ways beyond hormonal therapies to help with symptoms. We can discuss other medications, evidence-based supplements, diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes.

Do my symptoms have to be related to hormones to work with you? No! Thinking about hormones is just one example of how we would go beyond the surface to understand your current experience.
